Avali

And Avali has decided that, “Mom you can call the baby sister Lydia if you want to, but I’M calling her Sophie!” I guess it’s better than Mariposa like she was talking before! 5/11/09

Ava’s first concert 5/12/09  fieldtrip 5/15/09

Ava’s first filling 5/26/09

Ella

At the grocery store I was mocking Ella about her pronunciation of wall-er-melon and she said to me, “Mom you’re such a character!”  5/7/09

At preschool screening today with Ella, the teacher asks, “What do skunks do?” (With an upturned nose) and Ella replies without a single hesitation, “Fart green farts” Of course!! Not surprised AT ALL!!  5/13/09

When Ella was told that the baby was going to be a baby boy, she refused to hear of it.  No, it’s a baby sister.  I want a baby sister! 5/22/09

When Ella finally realized that we were serious and it really is a baby boy, she broke down in tears.  I wanted to pick a sister! Daddy got to pick a boy and I wanted to pick a girl  She thinks that since Daddy told her what it is, Daddy was the one that got to pick.  We turned the blame around though, and just explained the God is the one that gets to pick and he wants Cooper to have a brother! 5/23/09

Cooper

Coopie  peed on the potty for the first time on April 21st!  Yay big boy! 4/21/09

Coop was trying to get Ella’s attention, and she was not listening.  So he yelled for her, “ELLA!!!” and then with a sassy stance and some big attitude, “ELLA BROOKE!!!!”  It was quite amusing to say the least!

There are just a couple of things that I have to pop on to share.  The kids are so full of funny stuff lately!  Last week at my ob appointment, Cooper took it upon himself to slap my ob on the butt!  (And then of course, stand there and giggle and do it again!)  Then today, Ava tells me, “Mom I want to go somewhere to look at a menu and order macaroni and cheese. You know who has the best macaroni and cheese?  You and Taco Bell! ”  I thought it was a pretty cute comment!  And from Ella today… Wow, she takes the cake with this one!

“Mom!  Look at that!”  She points to my belly button…  ”I see the baby’s wiener!  It’s comin’ out of your belly button!  It’s squishy when you poke it!”  OMG! I almost fell over laughing! WHAT a KID!!!

Yesterdays plan:

*bring Ava to orientation
*pick up her and a friends kid afterward
*wait for my new phone to come from ups
*go to get jays prescription filled
*stop at library so we can cross off one more thing on the end of summer list
*vacuum out the van
*go to the park if time
*pick up rissa’s boy to mow

Seems simple enough right?

What really happened
*bring ava to orientation
*teacher misunderstood and didn’t put either of the girls on the bus to come to the other school where I was waiting… but luckily we managed to get in contact with each other and the girls got put on the right bus enventually
*called in to get jays prescription refilled… no more refills… had to call the pharmacy twice and the clinic once to get a refill called in
*ups comes… no phone
*Round up the three and go to carwash, vacuum out the van… get back in and the battery is dead.
*wait for 10 minutes for someone to pull in to the driveway… still no one… had to call riss. Waited another 20 minutes for her to get there.
She hooks up the cables… but neither of us noticed that on my van they were connected to two positives.  Clearly this wasn’t a job for girls!

*cables melt

*cables also melt a hose in my van
*wait for the cables to cool of, peel off the melted plastic and after talking to a couple of dhs we figure out where to put the cables… not on two positives on my van!
*find out the hose the melted was a casing for some other wires. Luckily none of the wires were touched
*get battery tested at car place… it’s fine
*get to pharmacy… they only used one of our two insurances… wait longer
*get groceries… dumb ass cashier puts so much stuff in each bag that the bottoms are threatening to fall out of every bag… I rebag
*by now it’s 6:30… if I wait to get home for supper like planned it’ll be almost 7:30
*spend the extra money I didn’t want to on going out for supper
*kids are animals, they’ve been forced to sit and wait WAY to much already
*go to library
*coop says 3 times that he has to pee… we go each time… he refuses to go. “Can’t, poop poop broken, won’t work!”
*go back to play with toys *we had all of 10 minutes total to play at the library*
*comes back and tells me mommy poop potty
*go to bathroom
*poops himself
*clean up the boy
*go back to play
*comes back and tells me mommy poop potty
*go to bathroom
*poops himself again
*go to van and clean up again…
*8:30 get home
*BEDTIME for all the kids
*I send the girls upstairs to get ready for bed, tell them to crawl in to bed and wait.
*I get distracted… I know surprising right?
*Bring Coop upstairs and the girls are already sleeping
*”Mommy Guilt” sets in… didn’t even kiss the girls goodnight

*Go to bed, hoping for a better day tomorrow!

Crazy busy! July 27, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — avaliandellab @ 7:13 pm

So it’s been since APRIL since I’ve made a post!  Wow!  Things have been crazy, as usual!  Pregnancy is going well… See baby blog… http://myfinalbabybump.wordpress.com/ Kids are doing well, and growing like mad!

Cooper: Coop-Man is now two years old!  Last week he learned how to use the potty.  Actually, the day he turned 25 months was his first totally dry day.  So so proud of the little stinker!  He’s still in LOVE with his blankies and thumb.  It’s more of an obsession really.  He’s also moved into a big boy bed in the last month or so.  That is not going quite as well as the potty training, but it’s not terrible.  Just a couple weeks ago, the boy decided to climb up to the top part of the Mc Donalds play land… and refuse to get down.  I had to crawl my roundish pregnant self up there and get him back down! Stinker!   And the other morning when I got up before him, he went into my room and found Ella in my spot and proceeded to SCREAM at Ella,

“Ella WHERE is MOMMY?   AH_LAAAA Where is MOOOOOMMMMYYYY?”

Ellison:  Ella is still our little “Dirty Birdie.”  She is such a little princess, but how that child gets SO dirty is beyond me!  She is always always hanging upside down or climbing on things and hanging in weird positions.  Yesterday she actually fell off the bench while we were SITTING down to eat dinner.  I laughed… A LOT!  (And actually got “the look” from Jay for it.  Apparently he was trying to scold her, and he can’t do that if I’m laughing.  Whatever, it was funny stuff!  She’s also pretty good and some funny lines lately!

“Ava, I get to go with Daddy because I’m more beautiful than you!”

“When I grow up, I want to be a mom just like you!”

“Fishing, fishing, we’re going fishing today…”

“If you tickle my butt, then your finger will smell like butt.”  NO I am NOT joking! This really was said when Grandpa pinched her butt yesterday!

Avali: And of course, Miss Ava Girl…  Miss Ava is going back and forth between an amazing big girl and helper and the other extreme… more like a tantruming, dramatic, cry at the drop of a hat toddler.  It’s been… um a learning experience? I think we’re starting to get it figured out and how to stop it before the total break down begins.  She is also growing like crazy, now has FOUR loose teeth!   My first baby is going to lose teeth soon! Won’t be long now and she’ll be heading into kindergarten! When, oh when, did this happen?

And a recent line from Ava:

“Mom, I just want to go see God and where he died, and give him flowers.”   So I told her, we couldn’t because it was SO far away… and she said, “And there are no roads?”  Umm yes exactly Ava, no roads.  ”Then how did God get there?”  Ummm he rode a camel Ava?  ”Then we could ride horses to get there, right Mom?”  Probably not Ava… sorry!

Just an update… March 5, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — avaliandellab @ 8:30 pm

It’s been a while since I’ve taken the time to put anything substantial on here.. so here it is.

Avali–  Avali is doing very well in school and she is loving it!   She is writing her name like a pro now, along with Ella’s name, and anything else we will help her with!  We’re working on counting right now.  Ok so yeah, that sounds silly considereing she’s nearly five, but this girl just does not want to count! Ugh Girls!!! She’s been incredibly well behaved and so understanding with Cooper!  Don’t get me wrong, we still have the tantrums, just nothing like we used to!  She’s come a long way baby!  She is so excited about having a baby sister… and understands that is MAY be a brother despite what Ella says.  Although Ava would prefer a new big sister. It’s kind of hard to get that point across to her. No matter what Ava will always be the big sister, but just fits the role so well! Miss Ava will be turning FIVE this month and I just can never understand where that time went!  It sounds so cliche, but how is she five already? So here is a picture I took of Ava this afternoon, just a little doll!  The chart is from her check up yesterday, the details are that legible, but you can get the idea… the kid is off the charts for her height and weight and always has been!

Ellison–  Oh my Ella, dear dear gross princess Ella.  God love the child, but wow!  Ella is such a princess.  The girl is constantly in a princess dress or something girly!  BUT she is always always dirty! Fresh out of the tub… dirty!  On saturday she was caught licking… yes I said licking… the front edge of the walmart service counter!  ACK!!!  So so incredibly gross… not long after that, eating jello off the floor of the chinese restaurant before I even knew what was happening!  BUT I have to say, the girl has an immune system like I’ve never seen! :D  But really, she is the sweetest thing! She loves her brother, she loves her sister, and she cannot wait for her “new baby sister” to come!  She rubs my belly every morning to talk to her baby sister and see if she can feel her.  Ella is a huge cuddle bug right now, and is known to be the one of our kids that will fall asleep pretty much anywhere!

Cooper–  Then there’s Coop-Man Stink… Cooper is FULL of it lately!  A wild wild boy!  He loves to dance, and play with cars and trucks… and occasionally his sister’s dress up stuff! (Much to Daddy’s dismay!)   Cooper likes to tell us when he has an icky diaper and is, from time to time, wanting us to put him on the potty!   Don’t assume though, because he is no where near ready to train!  Coopie man is a jabber box lately too!  He has probably 60 words or so… maybe more and is using up to 4 or 5 word phrases.  Oh but the temper!  He’s starting to remind us of those fabulous tantrum months from Avas 18 month to 2 year age span.  Not cool!  But he is a hugger and a lover, and that totally makes up for it!  I love that he is still a snuggler.  He loves his left thumb and his blue afghans, so that helps the snuggling a lot! ♥

Oh my Ella… February 17, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — avaliandellab @ 8:04 pm

So today my bff watched Ella and Cooper while I went to get a haircut and get a pregnancy, yes pregnancy, test done at the clinic.  While I was gone Ella had a couple of her Stellar Eller moments…

1) She walks out of the bathroom with a huge lump in her pants… upon further inspection it was a big ole lump of toilet paper wadded up.  Wonder what that was stashed for?

2) Later, Ella was watching tv and playing with the inchworm ride on toyinchworm when she zoned in on the tv and picked up the inchworm. (Still concentrating intently on the tv… Dora was on) Ella proceed to LICK the worm… all the way down the entire seat! ACK!!!  What was the girl thinking?

Then I came to pick her up and got the usual, “Mommy I missed-ed you!”  We stayed there for a while, and Ella got a treat…. a strawberry poptart.  Well, after hers was gone, she asked for, “Another beautiful granola bar”  Yes, that’s how she refers to a poptart… a beautiful granola bar.poptart

Signs of the Times October 27, 2008

As we all know, the economy has been less than ideal lately.  There are tons of things around us that verify just that… gas prices, lay offs, difficulties with lenders, a HUGE bail-out plan.  If you look around you’re bound to notice something!  In the past couple of weeks these are two signs printed and posted by local small business owners.

This is a good one….

But THIS is my favorite!

Need I say more?

A crazy week… September 28, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — avaliandellab @ 6:38 pm

So it all started on monday, when around 10am I got a call from our relator.  After nearly 4 years on the market our house finally has an offer… and now an accepted offer at that! Yay!  Well needless to say my week with no plans turned damn crazy! Monday I took the kids to go look at a couple houses to narrow down the ones that are available. Tuesday Ava had school so she had to be dropped off and then I had to finish up the candle fundraiser order, pick up a few checks, send out the fundraiser order, talk to the mortgage guy, and pick Ava back up after school.  Wednesday I had day care kiddos, and a photo shoot for one of the girls, along with more mortgage talk, lawn work, more considering of the different houses on the market, and CYF at church for Avali.  While she was there I took the other two kids for a walk to the house we are very serious about and looked around from the outside for a while.  Thursday, school for Avali, back to the house with the relator again, this time super serious, looking at all the details… back home for my day care boy,  a short nap for them (and beginning to get ready for Ellas big Lollipop party for me.)  A bit later it was time to pack up the three kids at home, and go back to town to pick Ava up again.  While on the phone with my hubby later in the afternoon I realize that while I was in town earlier, our dog Lola must have jumped out of the van because she was not at home.  Back in town we go to look for Lola.  Two hours, and one accident for poor Ava later, we go home to change her clothes and make signs for the missing dog.  Ava and I went into town again to hang up posters.  Once we got home, Avali had another accident and was complaining of it hurting.  Great, a UTI, I suppose!  So time for a baking soda bath, a call to the nurseline, and some fluids for her, time to get the other two into pajamas for the night, and WAY past time to watch my Greys Anatomy!  Finally, 9 pm, I get to snuggle up on the couch with Ava who at this point needed some lovin and one on one with mom.  Fifteen minutes later I get a phone call from a woman I do day care for who works at a local restaurant,

“Jen, are you missing Lola?”

“Oh my God, yes, I’ll be there in a minute!” So once again, Ava and I hop in the van and head into town to get Lola.  Once we get there, she took off across the parking lot, and my chunky ass had to chase her across the damn thing until she decided she knew me and wanted to come home.

Home again… at last!!! By 11ish I was finally able to get into bed. Oh what a feeling, but due to the stress of all of this home stuff… I didnt fall asleep until around midnight. About two hours later, Ava was awake and couldnt get off the bunk bed.  Once I got up with her, I couldnt fall back asleep and was awake in bed until 5:45 when we had to get up.  Friday morning instead of getting ready for the birthday party, I had to get the three kiddos out the door and on the way to an appointment for Ava, by 6:30.

Well, we made it to the appointment on time at 8:30, but it was over an hour before we were seen.  The doctor came in, and asked if she had given a urine sample.  Ummm? No!  One was never ordered.  So across the clinic we go, to the lab department to do the urine sample.  There we were given a pager that was to go off when they were ready for us, and to wait in the pediatric lab waiting room.  I got the two younger ones out of the stroller and told them they could play.  The second I set Cooper down, the pager went off and I had to explain that nope, we cant play today. So load them all back up again, head into the lab area bathrooms.  I got one of those handy little hat things so it would be easier to “collect” from Ava.  She supplied, and I couldnt have been happier.  Ella was standing surprisingly well and waiting for Ava to be done, and I was holding Cooper.  Once Ava got up I took the “hat” thingy, and set it in the sink, so I could open the collection container to transfer it into, you know, all the while holding Cooper.  Wouldn’t you  know it if there weren’t automatic faucets that filled that damned container with water and ruined the entire urine sample. Ahhhhh!!!! I was PISSED!  I came out of the bathroom nearly crying, and told the nurses that we’d need to wait for another sample.  Oddly enough, this little girl who, the previous night, had been peeing every fifteen minutes… didn’t have to pee for three HOURS!!!   Anyway, we finally supplied the sample, and asked the Dr. to call us with the results and he could call in a prescription to one of the places on the way home.  Shorty after we get a call saying, yes the urine did show “a few things” but we can’t treat her until we let it culture for 24 to 48 hours. Ugh!!!

A bit later we were on our way home, with no prescription, and a very miserable Ava, an exhausted mama, and Cooper and Ella cranky and tired of riding.   When we got home, it was time to make Ella’s cake for the party, do some yard work, and then once Jay got home go to look at the prospective new house again.  We were there for an hour, then home again to make Ella’s supper of her choice since it was her birthday.  Pancakes it is!  The little goober insisted that we sing to her about 4 times, oh yea, candles lit and everything!

Anyway, it was an exhausing and busy week.  A week that felt as though it should have been productive, but really wasn’t.

I will spare the details of the party in this post, I’m sure you’re exhausted after reading about the chaos as it is!  Party details to follow!

So as I was typing that last post, Ava was looking out the window looking at her ducks.  She noticed that Terabithia was pretty dirty and said,

”She got dirty from the graass Mom.”

Mom: “Oh?”

Ava: “I’m not going to get dirty in the grass when I’m a duck.”

Ok Ava!  When you’re a duck…
